Mommy Loves!

It's been a long 14 months. After waiting twelve years to have another, the birth of our second child was anything but easy. I'm beginning to make peace with my decision to only purchase things as we needed them. I'm also realizing that no amount of preparation would have helped us much in dealing with the unique situation, it was just one of those life experiences you had to pray your way through it to get through it.
Kid 2 has finally started sleeping through the night, not consistently but  I'll take what I can get. While appetite has been a saving grace in the whole ordeal, a round the clock feeding schedule has been nothing short of exhausting. Dad helps as much as he can, but my delayed return to work has  him picking up overtime whenever available, so at times his need for sleep trumps mine.
With Kid 1 we were gifted traditional glass bottles as well as bottles with drop-in disposable liners and followed the suggested boiling method of sanitizing.Looking back now it was one of those moments I dreaded as a young mother. Kid one had issues with colic and gas, the drop-in disposable liners turned out to be messy at times and boiling bottles every night was a pain. This time around we were able to convince family and friends against throwing a baby shower and had the opportunity to be more hands on in the purchasing process.
Kid 2 stayed in the hospital for 27 days after his initial procedure and was released on a special increased calorie formula by Enfamil. In the beginning we purchased cases of the nursettes and disposable nipples. In transitioning to bottles our main concerns were they had to be anti-colic, easy to sanitize and affordable.

The entire line has been a blessing so much so that I happily chose a similar set as a baby shower gift for my husband's coworker.
Might add that I found it on Zulily at almost half the price we paid for our original set and it also included a bottle warmer.

Currently transitioning into the straw and trainer cups.
